Blush Pinks and Quirky Prints

Over the past few weeks I have been picking up a few summer bits and bobs from the highstreet and thought it would be cool to share my favourite picks.  As I’m not jetting of on holiday until the end of August I’ve been trying my best to be sensible and  pick up pieces which will work in both rain and shine – even though this season’s beachwear has been extremely tempting!

First Up – The Bomber Jacket

I’m not usually one to wear light, pastel colours –  monochrome shades are normally my jam. However, I’ve been really loving some of the blushed / dusty pink shades which seem to be all over the high street this summer. I have also been really into the bomber jacket trend and find that they are perfect for our unpredictable Scottish climate. I first spotted this beauty in one of Kate (La Vie’s) haul videos and instantly fell in love! I have to admit, I never imagined that I would purchase a silky, pink jacket but this piece is actually super wearable and adds a welcomed pop of colour to my monochrome wardrobe. The delicate embroidery also adds a feminine touch to the masculine cut of the jacket – an amazing bargain from New Look.

Slogan daft.

90% of the time I pretty much live in slogan T-shirts, and as a huge fan of “The Last Shadow Puppets” this patch from Skinny dip was a must buy item. I really love customising my clothing with patches and badges and feel that slogan clothing and accessories add a quirky touch to any outfit.  The super cute Asos espadrilles (below) also do just that and will be perfect for beach trips and city street adventures alike!

Monochrome Prints

As I’ve mentioned –  I tend to stick with mostly monochrome pieces and prints. However I do enjoy incorporating splashes of colour with jackets, shoes and accessories. I really love these little polka dots shorts from Asos – they were also in the summer sale for just £10 – what a bargain.

Accessories

Sunnies – Even though summer lasts approximately 3 days in Glasgow, I have become somewhat of a sunglasses addict – help ! Whilst browsing H&M I picked up these Rose gold shades which I believe are incredibly close dupes to the infamous Rayban “Copper Round Flash Lens” glasses (at a fraction of the cost). I’ve worn these quite a few times already and would totally recommend them to anyone looking to save some pennies and avoid the designer price point!

I had also been eyeing up a few pairs of shades from Quay Australia – they seem to be everywhere this summer, so when I stumbled upon these “Kittie” glasses in the Asos sale I just couldn’t resist! I love the matte black rims and pink reflective lenses, I can’t wait to rock these on my holiday!

Neck Scarves

Another trend piece which I’ve been diggin’ is the neck scarf. I managed to pick this one up from Zara – the black and white paisley print makes it super versatile and it’s just about long enough to be worn as a headscarf too – result!

Jewellery

To be honest I’m a bit of a plain Jane when comes to jewellery – so I’m always on the look out for dainty little pieces. I’ve found that H&M really have the dainty jewellery front down whilst offering purse friendly price tags -hallelujah ! This month I picked up these two versatile pieces which add a little subtle something to any outfit.
