Winter Lips with ColourPop Cosmetics

Now that Colour Pop are officially shipping to the UK (yayy) I thought that it was about time to place a little order and see what all the hype is about. Although international shipping is relatively new to the site, I did place a small order via a US postage company around this time last year which consisted of a few Lippie Stix, a cream highlighter and a few single eyeshadows. I was mega impressed by the overall quality of the products and so since the release of their popular liquid lipsticks, I have been dying to try out some more.

Colour pop have such a wide variety of shades available, however I decide to go for some Autumn themed colours to see me through the season. As there is no way of trying the shades prior to purchasing I was initially a bit worried that they would look different when swatched, but with some careful googling I managed to find the shades that were right for me.

The brand offer a few formulas when it comes to their liquid lips. However I decided to for a mix of  Ultra Matte and Ultra Satin lipsticks. I picked up 3 Ultra matte in the colours “Love Bug”, “Beeper” and “Notion” and two Ultra Satin in “Calypso” and “Echo Park”.

The Low Down

Ultra Matte

I found that the pigmentation of these lipsticks is insane, upon application of all 3 shades I did not see any signs of streaking. The shape of the doe-foot applicator also makes for an easy and precise application, so much so that I have been skipping lip liner all together. I am a huge fan of all three shades and cannot wait to sport them in the A/W months. The only negative criticism I have with these are that they are quite drying on the lips, but I guess that is the price you pay for the ultra matte finish. However, when applied over a coat of lip balm, they worked perfectly fine and dried to a completely matte finish whilst leaving the lips feeling nourished.

I love the formula of these! Again, the pigmentation of these is second to none and I feel like the applicator helps to shape your lips nicely. I would say that this is definitely my preferred formula of the two, it is super creamy, yet dries down a little to avoid a glossy effect. The 2 colours I chose turned out to be prefect for everyday wear. I found the formula to be super long lasting even when drinking and eating. I actually sported “Calypso” last week whilst heading for coffee with a friend and was absolutely gobsmacked when I looked in the mirror after eating / drinking to see that the lipstick hadn’t budged! I would definitely rate them a 10/10 for staying power!

Overall I would really recommend having a look on their website. For $6, I feel that these are one ofthe best, if not the best liquid lipsticks I have tried at a drugstore price-range. Colour Pop now offer a flat rate for shipping to the UK. However, a word of warning to anyone placing an order – as they products are still coming from the U.S there is a probability that you will have to pay a customs charge. For example, the customs fee on my $30 order was £12. This is something you might want to think about before placing your order.

Have you tried any Colour Pop products? Which ones where your favourites? I have a few other bits and bobs from previous orders, so if you would like to see more colour pop reviews, let me know !
