Escape to The Highlands – The Lookbook
This weekend, my mum, my sister and I decided to book up a last minute trip to the highlands – and man, last minute plans really are the best kind of plans. Over the past few weeks I have been spending crazy amounts of time glued to my computer screen between work, blogging and Netflix binging (no regrets), therefore this little last minute getaway was the perfect way to detox in a digital free zone.
Glencoe is probably my favourite highland hideaway, its mountain views are second to none and its laid back vibe makes for a welcomed change to the constant buzz of busy city living. Whilst visiting the beauty misty mountains of Glencoe, I decided to take full advantage of its natural beauty and take some outfit shots featuring some of my favourite fashion finds of the season. I’ve also added in a few of my favourite scenery snaps, because they are way to pretty to just live in my Itunes photo library!
As you may have read in my recent “Curated Closet” post , over the past few weeks I have been re-working my wardrobe in attempt to collate a collection of pieces that I know I will love and wear. I have also been using “The Curated Closet” to help me define my personal style which has been a really interesting process. More recently I have almost shied away from posting fashion content. However I am super happy with the result of this mini lookbook and feel that the two outfit snaps below perfectly reflect my sense of style and feature some of my most loved pieces of the season.

When travelling, comfort pretty much trumps all. With this in mind, it’s no surprise that these striped Zara Culottes are my best pal. The monochrome detail is ultra versatile meaning they can be paired with pretty much anything – t-shirts, sweatshirts, camis – you name it!
A black and white slogan tee? Who’d have guessed it?. In all seriousness I’m pretty sure that slogan t-shirts make up around 70% of my wardrobe. However this “Deep End Club” inspired beauty which reads “Girls can do Anything” is my most recent love. I’m all about those Alexa Chung vibes!
Around the time of London fashion week 2017, my Insta-feed seemed to be swamped with an abundance of kick ass hand painted jackets and as I scrolled in awe I knew it wouldn’t be long until I would pick one up for myself. I recently managed to snap up this little gem in Forever 21. Although this is most definitely a “trend” piece, I feel like it’s a subtle take on some of the more eccentric outerwear I’ve spied online and I know that I will definitley get my wear out of it during festival season – roll on Glastonbury!
Can you ever go wrong with a pair of cons? Ever since unboxing my first pair of Chuck Taylors at the age of 14, converse has become my ride or die shoe brand. They’re super versatile, mega comfortable and just plain classic.
Until a few months ago, I was convinced that “Mom” cut jeans just weren’t for me. As a petite gal, finding well fitting basic skinny jeans can be a struggle at best never searching for something a little different. When it came to browsing the highstreet, most pairs were either too baggy or too long with little shape. However, these beauties from Asos are my absolute saviours and fit like a glove. All hail Asos Petite!
Usually, I’m a black, white and grey kinda gal, but when I spied this colour block jumper of dreams hanging in the rails of New Look, I decided to give this “wearing colours” thing a bash – wild, I know. Turns out – I kinda love it. I especially like the red and baby pink combo and will definitely be incorporating more of this colour palette into my wardrobe!
Think you’ve spied these before? Yep, you might have spotted this Gucci inspired belt in my highstreet dupe post, and the bag? I spilled the beans on this Accessorize number in my latest what’s in my bag post. Needless to say the two are definitely up there with my favourite purchases of the year so far!
I hope you enjoyed this little lookbook! Just looking over these images has me itching to book another trip up north. Do you have any “must visit” highland destinations? I’d love to add some to my list!
