Lets talk about Goals, baby.

As with a lot of things in life from fitness levels to career advancement, I believe that goal setting is extremely important. I really feel that it is crucial to have a plan – or at least a rough outline of what you would like to achieve and exactly how you will go about this. I am a bit of a Monica Geller, can you tell? Personally, I find that setting goals really motivates me to work that little bit harder and challenge myself. I also find that setting targets and goals can be a great way of tracking your progress in the long term.

When it comes to blogging and pretty much everything in life really, I am a big advocate of the phrase “a goal without a plan is just a wish”.  Without a plan, long-term goals can sometimes feel a bit overwhelming. Therefore, having an idea of the goals you would like to achieve and how might meet these can really put you at ease – and get the ball rolling. Blogging goals are not something I have ever discussed on the blog, but I thought it would be nice to mix things up a little bit and share a bit more about my blogging process. Below are a few little goals I wish to achieve over the next few months.

Scheduling

When it comes to social media, scheduling tweets is probably my least favourite thing to do. But sharing your work is crucial. How will people discover the articles you have worked hard on if you don’t put them out there into the blogosphere? Over the coming months, I am aiming to spend a little more time scheduling my work. Whilst I don’t believe that numbers are the be-all and end-all of blogging, the digital marketer in me realises that these are in fact, quite important. I don’t believe it is a crime to admit this either.

Twitter Chats

I love connecting with other bloggers and Twitter chats are a great way of doing so! However, for some reason I never seem to remember to actually tune in for them. I am forever watching the hashtags appear and my feed and thinking “next week, I will be there “. Throughout the next few weeks, I will be scheduling in some time to take part in these fab chats. I will be there, with bells on.

Outfit Photos

This year, I have discovered that outfit posts are some of my favourite to read and write. I really enjoyed writing up my personal style content and was extremely pleased with how the post photos turned out (thanks, Karen). Keep your eyes peeled for some sneaky autumnal style posts!

Photography

Recently, I have been mega-inspired by a few accounts that I have stumbled across on Instagram, notably @Sarah_Louise_Ferg. If you haven’t already checked out her feed, you need to see this! Each of Sarah’s snaps ooze creative genius and leave me thinking, “how did she do that?” I have so much respect for bloggers and Instagrammers who switch things up and wow you with their creations. Over the coming months, I am making it my mission to try some online tutorials and enroll onto some e-courses in an attempt to learn some handy new photography and editing skills. Do you have any that you would recommend? I feel a little clueless when it comes to this type of thing!

Week-daily Blogging

This month I have decided to give week daily blogging a go and to be completely honest, I have already surprised myself. We are now two weeks into the month of October and I have yet to miss one day. I have always wanted to give week-daily blogging a bash, so what better time to do so than Blogtober!

I hope you enjoyed this little ramble all about my blogging goals for the coming months. If you would like to read some more of my new content, you can do so here and here.

Wanna see what goes on behind the blog?  Why not pop over to Twitter or Instagram and say hello!
