So long, October
So today is the last day of October? Surely this has got to be some sort of drill? I don’t think I’m quite ready to say goodbye to pumpkins and crispy autumn leaves just yet. As you may know today also marks the final day of my Blogtober week-daily upload challenge. Over the past few weeks I have had so much fun creating new and exciting content for my blog and have quite honestly surprised myself with how much I can achieve when I really make the most of my time.
Whilst drafting up my content for the month I had initially planned on whipping up a festive themed post for today as it is Halloween and all. However, for some reason I am not all that big on this spooky holiday. Maybe I’m just a little too old for it now… As the past month has been jam packed with some pretty amazing memories, I thought that I would instead share a few things that have made me smile during the month of October
As you may have spotted over on Instagram, last week my friend from London popped up for a little visit and we took a mini roadtrip to Glencoe. The Glencoe area is one of my all time favourite places to visit as it is so peaceful and the scenery is second to none. As a city girl, I will always adore the constant buzz of busy city life, however I also feel like a little country escape now and again is good for the soul. During our trip we made a few pit stops in various areas including Fort William and Onich. We also managed to squeeze in a trip to the Glenfinnan Viaduct (The Harry Potter Bridge) which has been on my bucket list for quite some time. I had such a lovely time catching up with my friend and can’t wait for another adventure sometime soon!
Yep, after initially refraining from jumping on the Glossier bandwagon – I finally caved and boy am I glad that I did! Since my little pink bag arrived earlier this week I have been using my products religiously. I have fallen hard for this beautiful brand and can’t wait to share my picks with you soon! Keep yo’ eyes peeled!
After falling for Declan’s indie cindy vibes whilst watching him for the first time at Glastonbury this year, I knew that I would have to snap up some tickets for his upcoming Glasgow date. This week, the day finally arrived and my friend and I attended his gig at the 02 ABC – and it was nothing short of amazing! Although we were probably (definitely) the oldest people at the gig, we had the best time nonetheless. His instant feelgood tracks had the entire crowd hooked from start to finish and his stage presence was as incredible as ever. He is one seriously talented 18 year old!
The End of the F**cking World
Whilst catching up on The Bake Off this week I was mega intrigued by trailer advert for Channel 4’s latest release – The End of The F***ing World. The series is an adaptation of Charles Forsman’s graphic novel about two teens – James (the loner) and Alyssa (the angsty one) who form a unique bond whilst embarking on an unexpected road trip. Upon watching the first episode of this dark comedy I was completely hooked and shamelessly watched the entire series in just two days. From My Mad fat Diary to This is England, I have loved each and every series produced by Channel 4 – therefore it is no surprise that this has made my “must watch” list. If you are a fan of dark comedy / Tim Burton-esque flicks, this will be right up your street!
Could I really write up a weekly round up without giving an honourable mention to this series? I think not! In a strange (pardon the pun) turn of events this week, I realised that I had actually applied for an extra day’s’ holiday from work for the series’s release date. I therefore spent the entire day whipping up some new blog content whilst bingeing the series – the entire series. Without spoiling it for any of you, I will say that it was everything I could have asked for and more, if Netflix could get cracking on the third season already – that would be great.
As part of my week-daily Blogtober challenge, I have a whole host of new fashion, beauty and lifestyle content here on my site. I would love it if you checked it out! Wanna see what goes on behind the blog? Why not pop over to Twitter or Instagram and say hello!
