Autumn / Winter Skincare Saviours
During the winter months with chilly days and cold air, I feel that my skin begins to lack two things – luminosity and hydration. Therefore, as I mentioned in my recent glowing skin post – I tend to switch up my beauty routine accordingly. Over the years I have come to realise that having a good base to work with makes makeup application a breeze. It also makes me feel that bit more confident on non-makeup days too. As I have just recently switched up my skincare routine, I thought I would share with you the products that I will be using to help keep my skin hydrated and dewy, even on the chilliest of winter days.
The Ordinary Lipoc Acid
According to The Ordinary’s website Alpha Lipoic acid is a supercharged antioxidant (ohh la la). The concentrated serum not only targets sign of premature aging but it also gently exfoliates and brightens dull skin too. The product is even said to be able to provide a “glow” overnight which is a pretty bold claim. I have so much love for The Ordinary brand and can’t wait to put this to the test this season.
Midnight Recovery Eye
Recently I have found that my undereye areas appear to be a little darker than usual. Most nights, I get enough sleep (I firmly believe that Netflix binges are good for the soul). I drink tonnes of water but yet my eye bags seem to say otherwise. After trying the magical Midnight Recovery Eye a few years back and falling in love with its results, I decided to return to this fab find. I am praying that this will work its magic on my “`I’ve had 2 hours sleep – esque” bags.
Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser – Aka The Holy Grail
I have been using this cleanser for years now and find that nothing quite compares to its making removing power. For some reason, my skin feels extra squeaky clean when using a hot cloth to remove makeup build up. I particularly love the mandarin and clove scent for this time of year – it is basically Christmas in a bottle!
Micellar Oil Infused Solution
Each night before cleansing, I always remove my makeup first with some sort of micellar water – to achieve that double cleansed effect. This variation from Garnier as perfect for colder months as the oil suspended alongside the water adds a well-needed splash of hydration that other cleansing waters lack.
Neutrogena Hydro Boost
Ahh good old Hydro-Boost. If I could personally design one moisturiser to suit all of my needs, the Hydro Boost Water Gel would be it. The cooling gel texture doesn’t feel heavy or oily on the skin – in fact it feels ultra refreshing and light. The lightweight gel somehow manages to provide an insane amount of hydration – nourishing even the dryest skin. This product was a summer skincare staple for me, so I am intrigued to find out how it performs during the upcoming winter months.
Masks, masks, masks!
Throughout Autumn Winter, the skin can take a real beating – even when using products like moisturisers regularly. I, therefore, tend to try and give my skin a little hydration boost by popping on a face mask once a week or so. I picked up a handful of these super cute Tony Moly masks whilst in Sephora in Barcelona and am excited to finally give them a try. Korean skincare has received quite the buzz over the past year, therefore I am super excited to try some out for myself.
Nuxe’s Creme Fraiche de Beaute is also a firm favourite of mine!
As part of my week-daily blogtober challenge, I have a whole host of new fashion, beauty and lifestyle content here on my site. I would love it if you checked it out! Wanna see what goes on behind the blog? Why not pop over to Twitter or Instagram and say hello!
